You would not necessarily know springtime is settling in at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort because the snow totals this year continue to break records. Those records include the snowiest February, and then the snowiest month on record! However, there are a few indicators that spring (outside of the snow) is in the air. Longer days make for sunnier, warmer temperatures allowing more light on the mountain. Birds are chirping and singing in the trees, while music is heard under the tram.
Music Under the Tram series brings in some of the best musicians to the mountains. Saturday lineups continue for the next few weeks with a fun mix of music catering to all ages and styles.
On Saturday, March 30th, the band, WYO will play under the tram from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. If you are not familiar with the tram, it is located in Teton Village at the base of the mountain. It is a lively spot seeing the mountain backdrop with lots of people enjoying the scene, all under the infamous Jackson Hole Mountain Resort tram.
According to WYO bio; 'Los Angeles’ WYO (by way of Jackson, Wyoming) makes cinematic music inspired by frontman Andy Sorge’s home state of Wyoming. Taking inspiration from the imposing landscapes and majestic mountains he grew up around, singer-songwriter Andy Sorge utilizes an organic instrument palette to create the soundscape that is WYO. After attending film school in New York, Andy met multi-instrumentalist, Scott McKay Gibson, and the two retreated to Wyoming and began delving into Andy’s original songs that would soon become their debut album, Untamed. Released in early 2018, WYO teamed up with veteran Los Angeles-based producer, Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, Pete Yorn, Ben Lee), to provide a fresh ear to finalize the LP.'
